Experience

SCMS, SCMS, I can't hear you!  I have been fortunate enough to work with teachers who are committed to educating the students of Stewart County and any who transfer into our system .  All of my teaching experience has been at Stewart County Middle School.   As a product of the Stewart County School System, I feel truly honored to be able to serve and to give back to my community by being a part of the educational system.

As a sixth grade teacher, I taught math, science, and language arts.   Due to the fact that I looped with a group of students (class of 2008), I  taught math and science in seventh grade one year.  Presently, I teach 6th and 8th grade math.

I received my In-Tech endorsement in 2001 and taught an In-tech class in 2002.  Before becoming a teacher,  I was the Osiris Coordinator and counselor's assistant at Stewart-Quitman High/Stewart County Middle School (prior to becoming Stewart County High School in 2009).  It is always a pleasure to receive additional training in my discipline, so that I can become more enlightened on the eduational needs and requirements of my pupils.

Bio

I am a native of Stewart County,  and a proud graduate of the Stewart County School System.  All of my teaching experience has been in Stewart Middle School where I have truly enjoyed giving back to my community.  I count it as a blessing to be educated in a school system and then afforded an opportunity to teach and serve in it.

I became employed by the Stewart County School system in 1992 as the first Osiris Coordinator and assistant to the counselor.  Through the continued support and encouragement of my parents and members of the staff, I chose to pursue a teaching career.  Prior to working in the school system, I was a member of the U.S. Army Reserve serving at the 73rd Field Medical Hospital as a 91B (medical assistant).

I am the proud mother of one daughter, Kededra, and a mentor-mother to LaPorchia.
